Currently, Resinas Naturales operates two production plants in Spain, located in the towns of Cuéllar and Almazán. Resin: A natural resource with a promising future
Resins derived from pine trees have been used by humans for centuries in various historical activities. Two main by products are primarily obtained from resin: rosin and turpentine, colloquially known as natural pine turpentine. The natural adhesive property of rosin in rosin bags aids baseball players in getting a better grip on the ball, and violinists in producing beautiful music by stabilizing the bow on the stringed instrument.
Anyone who has read the Bible may recall how pine resin was used to make Noah’s Ark water-resistant. Ancient Greeks used it for illumination, while other civilizations utilized it for healing purposes and religious ceremonies. Pine resin has been essential to human life for millennia, and we continue to use its derived products in a multitude of modern applications across industrial sectors such as cosmetics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food, among others.
